The Detail

About this lehenga

This piece uses two threads where most use one. The base is powder blue net, and the embroidery is worked in cream as the dominant colour with turquoise running through the motifs as an accent. That second thread is what keeps the outfit from disappearing into a single pale mass at a distance, and it is the main reason this design reads well under evening light where tonal pastels often go flat.

The skirt is built in tiers, each band a different scalloped jaal pattern separated by narrower borders, with the work growing denser towards the hem. A canvas-supported hem holds the flare full. The construction is close to our baby pink lehenga, but the two-tone thread gives it noticeably more definition.

The choli is full sleeve with a sweetheart neckline, embroidered through the body and down the arms, finished with a fine beaded fringe at the hem. The dupatta is powder blue net with scattered floral butis and a matching embroidered border.

Fit and sizing

Available in AU sizes 6 to 20. The choli is supplied with margin at the seams, and sleeve length, neckline depth and skirt length are all set during your fitting. Most alterations are completed within 7 to 14 days. If you are ordering as a bride for a fixed date, we recommend starting at least four to six weeks out.

Styling notes

Cool-toned jewellery is the natural fit here: pearl, silver-toned kundan and polki all sit comfortably against the cream thread. Turquoise or aquamarine stones pick up the accent colour directly, which is the easiest way to make the outfit look deliberately styled rather than simply matched. Silver or nude heels, and a soft rather than heavy lip, keep the balance right.

Which sky blue is right for you?

We stock two sky blue lehengas in different constructions. This one is net with dense all-over thread work, softer in finish and more heavily worked, which makes it the stronger evening and bridal option. The alternative is silk with graphic gold zari panels, lighter to wear and better suited to warm weather and long daytime functions. Both are in store, and trying them side by side is the quickest way to decide.

Where to wear it

Occasions this suits

Engagement

Dense enough to lead the ceremony, in a palette that stays clearly distinct from bridal red and gold.

Reception

The turquoise threading lifts under artificial light, so the pattern stays legible across a room in the evening.

Sangeet

The tiered flare moves well, and the net base keeps it lighter than a comparable beaded or zari piece.

Bridal

A full alternative palette for brides who want blue, with enough work across the skirt to carry a main function.

Daytime weddings

Cream and blue is a natural daylight combination and holds up well in outdoor photography.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from your other sky blue lehenga?

This one is a net base worked all over in cream and turquoise thread across tiered scalloped bands, which gives a soft, densely textured finish. The other is silk with graphic vertical gold zari panels and a lighter overall weight. This is the more heavily worked of the two and the stronger evening piece; the silk one is better for long daytime functions in warm weather.

Is the two-tone embroidery hard to match jewellery to?

Not especially. The cream carries most of the surface area and the turquoise reads as an accent, so pearl, polki and silver-toned kundan all work. Turquoise or aquamarine stones pick up the accent thread directly if you want to lean into it. Heavy yellow gold is the one combination we would generally steer you away from.

Does this include the dupatta and choli?

Yes. This is a complete three-piece set: the full-sleeve embroidered choli, the tiered lehenga skirt and the matching embroidered net dupatta.

Can I try this lehenga on before buying?

Yes. Visit our Epping boutique at Level 1, 15B Miller Street, Epping VIC 3076. Walk-ins are welcome, though we recommend booking so a stylist is free to assist you.

Do you offer alterations and custom sizing?

Yes. We provide in-house alterations for neckline, sleeve length, blouse fit, waist and skirt length. Turnaround is usually 7 to 14 days depending on the changes required.

What sizes are available?

This design is available in AU sizes 6 to 20. If your measurements fall between sizes, we fit the larger size and alter it down.

Do you deliver across Australia?

Yes. We ship Australia-wide, including Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional Victoria. Contact us for a delivery quote and current timeframes.

How should I care for this outfit?

Dry clean only. Store it folded in a breathable cotton cover rather than plastic, and keep the net dupatta separate so the border embroidery cannot snag the skirt. Pale blue shows marks more readily than deep colours, so clean it promptly after wear rather than storing it soiled.
